THE COLLECTION
Our Collection is born of long experience and expresses the great tradition of Florentine silversmiths.
It is composed of pieces of sophisticated craftsmanship, made in our workshop using the antique artisan techniques of chiselling, embossing and engraving. These works are inspired by the classical connection between the silversmith’s art and painting, sculpture and architecture.
Some of the pieces in the Collection are fruit of the 1950s collaboration with Giovanni Battista Giorgini, an iconic figure amongst 20th century businessmen and important champion overseas, particularly in North America, of the highest forms of Florentine craftsmanship.
Giorgini understood that the promotion of the best Italian craftsmen was a way to widen recognition and appreciation of our country, spreading an image of full economic recovery.
He personally visited the young Paolo Pagliai and his father Orlando in the Piazzetta de’ Rossi workshop, proposing a collaboration with Tiffany & Co. to create beautiful ornaments.
Today we still conserve a pair of Tritons, the fish salt cellars, the frog box and the snail box. The latter was found and bought by the Pagliai family from a shop on the Ponte Vecchio.
Certain small “jewels” have remained part of our production, enduring in time, impossible for us to relinquish or stop creating.
